Destination Wedidngs and Honeymoons
Though French Polynesia may seem the ideal spot for a destination wedding, it is unfortunately very difficult to get married there. The residency requirement to obtain a marriage is 30 days, and couples must apply for the silence in person. However, couples may choose to have the legal ceremony performed at home and participate in the Tahitian Wedding Ceremony offered by many resorts here. It is not official, but certainly a unique experience for the couple and their guests. French Polynesia is a top choice among honeymooners who often choose to visit a combination of island, most frequently Tahiti, Bora Bora and Moorea. Many resorts offer honeymoon packages which often have all-inclusive or a la carte options.
