Napa & Sonoma
Despite all of the activities and sites in the city itself, a trip to the Bay area would be virtually incomplete without a visit to the nearby wine region. Napa and Sonoma can be easily reached by car within an hour of San Francisco and numerous tours run daily out of the city. Winery maps are easy to come by and give the description and sometimes hours of each winery. Weather you take a guided tour of the wine region or create your own from these maps, it is most definitely a "must do". While there are many wonderful options, Chimera Travel visited the Mayo winery, provided a wonderful tasting menu at a very reasonable price. If possible, take a couple of days to explore the region and sample several wineries (safely, of course, which makes a guided tour or private driver a great option!).
