Harvest Festival

Each January and February, the eighty communities in the Mendoza region each hold festivals to elect their candidate for Harvest Queen. The candidates then all come to Mendoza for Vendimia, which occurs the first Saturday in March, for a weekend event that starts with a blessing of the grapes and includes music, dancing, light and sound shows. As the festival comes to a close as the Harvest Queen is chosen. This festival is huge with the locals and certainly an entertaining experience for visitors to the area during the early part of the year.
