Bologna, Italy
Italy is well-known its fantastic food, and Bologna is at the heart of some of the best gastronomy in the country. Located in the Emilia-Romagna between Florence and Milan, Bologna does not always attract the typical tourist crowd, which makes it all the more authentic and enjoyable for true food and wine connoisseurs. Bologna is also quite famous for its University, the second largest in Europe, which has been continually operating since approximately the year 1088. No cars are allowed in the central part of the city, a nice change of pace for tourists who have become accustomed to dodging speeding cars and mopeds in many of Italy's other cities.
