To See & Do
The best way to see Bologna is to just wander the streets, many of which branch off from the main square which is a great place to start your walking tour. Strolling the narrow streets of Bologna, you will feel like you have stepped into a scene from a movie. With fruit and vegetable stands, butchers, cheese shops, wine shops, gelato bars and local markets lining the pedestrian streets, it's everything people picture of an Italian town. But don't let this small town feel fool you-Bologna is also the home of some of the best shopping in Italy, including some of the most upscale chains in the country. Keep in mind that many stores and restaurants close for several hours in the middle of the day-often from 12 to 2:30 or from 1to 4 PM- and then re-open until usually 7 or 8 PM.
