Nearby towns on the Amalfi Coast include Amalfi itself, Salerno and (just slightly back from the coast) Ravello, all easily reached from Positano. Amalfi - Situated in the Canneto River, Amalfi is characterized by its white houses and rocky cliffs and narrow streets. While here, make sure to visit the Cathedral dedicated to Saint Andrew. Ravello - Up on the Lattari mounts, Ravello is a quiet town that looks out over the sea and has become world renown for its International Music Festival. Sorrento - Sorrento's brightly colored buildings, shops and restaurants are reason enough to stop in this coastal town. However, many visitors use Sorrento as a jumping off point to the Isle of Capri, a luxurious vacation spot for both locals and visitors. Capri - This island's luxurious houses, hotels and restaurants are built into the hillside, creating a picturesque view as you arrive by boat. The island is probably most famous for its Blue Grotto.
