Day Trips & Excursions

Though there is plenty to do in Vienna itself, the region also offers some enticing side trips. Austria's natural beauty and historical reach, especially in the world of music, can easily draw you out of the city limits for the day and it is well worth it.

• Salzburg - the most common day trip from Vienna, Salzburg is the home of Mozart and the Mirabell Gardens. Approximately three ours from Vienna, take a train or guided tour through the past Austria's lakes and Alps.
  
• Danube cruise - enjoy a relaxing day on the Danube River past charming villages, castles and vineyards.
  
• Vienna Woods - walking and hiking trails on the edge of the Vienna Basin. A great spot for outdoor enthusiast who want to roam outside of the city center for a little bit of nature.
