Road Tripping in the Pacific NW
September 14th, 2009
It’s been a while since I’ve gotten to share my personal adventures with everyone -I’ve been home since early June. This coming weekend I’m hitting the road again, literally. I’m to the pacific northwest or a week. My sister is getting married in Seattle – that part of the trip is by plane – and then we are taking a bit of a road trip through Washington and Oregon.
We plan to hang out in portland for a few days and then head down to Eugene area. We’ll return to Portland on Thursday night and then back up to Seattle to catch our flight. (Note: way less expensive to drop your rental car off at the same place you picked it up, rather than another city, hence our returning to Seattle the last night).
I’m greatly looking forward to this chance to explore one of my favorite parts of the country and enjoy some quality time with loved ones. Of course, I’ll attempt to blog from my trip and if I don’t have the chance, I’ll update when I come back.
In the meantime, I’m asking for my readers’ help. I have been to Seattle a few times and know the area reasonable well, and we have a friend showing us around Eugene, but haven’t spent much time in Portland or the rest of Oregon. I would love to hear your suggestions on the following topics, as well as anything else you’d love to offer!
- Brew pub in or near Portland
- Favorite hot springs in Oregon (preferably somewhat near Portland or Eugene)
- Vegetarian or vegan restaurants in Portland
- Bars where we can see good live music
- Nightlife suggestions
- Any other “must do’s” or “must sees”
Thanks so much! I look forward to your comments!
