How, What, When, Where, Why?

How, What, When, Where, Why?

How do I get from this Rome to the Amalfi Coast?

What are the best sites to see in Vienna (Bangkok, Capetown, etc)?

When is the best time to visit Costa Rica?

Where is the best place to exchange currency?

Why is airfare A higher than airfare B when the flights look the same?

The basic questions of how, what, when, where and why can apply to virtually every industry and travel is no exception (I’ve left out the who, as generally it’s the travelers asking these questions for themselves or for someone they know).

The answers to these questions can take hours to research and even then, you often get contradictory information and have to decide which you feel is the most accurate.

Because this process can be frustrating, we want to help! What are your biggest travel questions? What do you want to know? Even if you’ve done some research but aren’t sure which of the results is most accurate, ask away! We are looking to dedicate several blogs to answering your questions – chances are that you’re not the only one who’s curious about the topic and you’re helping others out by asking as well!

WG – I love this question. Accessible Travel has been a focus in the industry lately. I’ve read two articles in major publications within the last month dedicated to this topic. I would love to explore it in a blog and have also sent it out to others in the industry to get their feedback – some based in Europe might have specific suggestions for hotels, tours, etc. Thank you!

Which airlines to find have the best accomodations for people in wheelchairs? Are the major cities in Europe mostly wheelchair accessible?

Elijah, excellent question and so many others share this same uncertainty! So many, in fact, that we are dedicating the next issue of TraveLuxe, our travel emagazine is going to be dedicated to cruises and islands! In the mean time, I am definitely going to answer this question in a blog of its own. I also hope to be adding some of the islands to my destination section soon as well!

I always hear people talking about various Caribbean islands, but I must admit, I don’t know one from the rest. Which are the best islands for relaxation, and which are more adventure/activity orientated?

Hi Maura, thank you for your questions. The airline industry seems to change almost daily sometimes and keeping up on the trends can be tricky. I am sure others have similar questions and would love to address these in more detail. Hi Kristin, thanks for your comment! I am glad you like the opportunity to ask questions and I’m glad you brought up Mexico. It’s been getting some bad press lately and really is a wonderful destination! I will definitely be doing a post on Mexico and some of my personal favorite resorts soon to try to point out some it’s great features!

When and how should I book a domestic flight?

Hello. Since your posing above invites questions, I have a couple about booking domestic flights that I have wondered about for years. I tend to get different answers and am hoping that you can weigh in.

    1. Does it matter what day of the week you book your flight. All of the “discount travel” experts on the talk shows say you should book on Wed to get the lowest fares. Is this really true?

    2. How far in advance should I book a domestic flight? It seems like anything too far and the flights are really expensive, but then if I wait the flights are booked up.

    3. Am I better of booking my flight through one of the travel sites like Expedia or Travelocity? Or should I go directly to the airline website? Where am I likely to see the best prices and options?

I appreciate any insight you are able to give. Thank you.

I think this is a great Blog topic! My question is which part of Mexico is the best All Inclusive, sit on the beach with my daqueri area/resort? Cabo, Puerto Vallarta or Riveria Maya? Also do they speak English at the resorts?
